  • Copy Text: Middle Child of Web Design

When it comes to launching a new website, copy text often comes in last. It’s usually the final element added to the site, long after design mock-ups are delivered, approved, and developed. It’s also typically the item on the bottom of the “what we need to make our site great” list, far below a stunning visual presence and impressive user functionality.

I think this is a mistake.

Although this is only part one of a three part series, we should still take a minute to look back and review. Bottom line: the Internet has come a long way. It has completely revolutionized the way that nearly every company does business and proved to the world that it is no mere fad. • Digital Painting Process

We're going to discuss techniques that you can use to start digitally painting your first illustration using the soft and hard edge brush, pen tool, burn and dodge tool, and levels adjustment.  A really helpful hardware tool to have is a Wacom Tablet, which can help make your digital airbrushing go a little smoother.

  • Aptera Open House 2009

Aptera held its second annual open house on October 15. Last year’s event was a ribbon-cutting celebration of our newly remodeled downtown office. After an amazing year in our new home, we thought it only fitting to carry on the tradition by throwing another party.

Aptera rolled out the red carpet, Catablu catered delicious hors d'oeuvres, and clients and associates from all over the Fort Wayne area came by to enjoy a drink with us. We were thrilled to have people in attendance from as far as Indianapolis and Chicago. Thanks for making it great, guys!

  • ExactTarget Connections 2009

Aptera was invited to speak at Connections 2009, the largest e-mail marketing conference in the world. The sold-out event was hosted by ExactTarget, an e-mail marketing service provider based in Indianapolis, Indiana. Brooke Francesi, Aptera’s design team lead, gave a well-received panel speech on October 14 about how Aptera leverages e-mail marketing for business development.

“I am hoping that you’ll be back to speak next year and discuss your success with segmentation in 2010!”
